CS2 Agents: All 63 Agents and Prices

Agents are the player models you can equip for each side instead of the default map-based characters. CS2 has 63 of them: 34 for the Terrorists and 29 for the Counter-Terrorists, all from three operations between 2019 and 2021. Below is every agent by side and faction, with its rarity, its operation and the cheapest listing on 25 October 2026.

Every agent price here is the single cheapest listing across the marketplaces we track, with the Steam Market and the China-only sites left out (the site's headline rule). Our knife and glove pages show the middle price across marketplaces instead, so the two aren't directly comparable.

Agents by operation

Every agent came from one of three operations. Our counts follow the game's item files, which put 20 agents in the Broken Fang collection. Valve's Broken Fang reward list names "Five new agents in the redesigned CT SWAT team to battle five new Professionals"; the collection also holds returning and recoloured characters, so the two numbers differ.

Operation Broken Fang3 December 2020128$5.32 to $66.03
Operation Riptide22 September 20211011$7.75 to $63.85

Release dates are the dates of Valve's operation announcements. Operation names link to them.

Agent rarities

Agents have their own four rarity names, different from weapon skins. From the most common to the rarest:

RarityAgentsPrices
Distinguished16$3.58 to $63.85
Exceptional16$4.28 to $57.75
Superior15$5.03 to $39.71
Master16$7.61 to $66.03

Rarity and price don't follow each other closely. The Master tier runs from $7.61 to $66.03, while Primeiro Tenente and D Squadron Officer (both Distinguished) are among the ten most expensive agents.

How to get agents in CS2

All 63 agents were operation rewards. In Operation Shattered Web (November 2019), Valve's notes say "All-new CT Operators and T Agents are available as mission progress rewards": you bought the Operation Pass, completed weekly missions to earn stars and unlocked agents with them. Broken Fang (December 2020), where you spent stars on rewards, and Riptide (September 2021), where you completed weekly missions, also gave agents as rewards: both announcements list rewards "including new agents".

No operation has run since Riptide, and no Valve note adds another source. The weekly Care Package that replaced weekly drops at CS2's launch lets you "Choose from weapon cases, weapon finishes, and graffiti". Agents aren't named in that list. What's left is buying one from another player: every agent on this page had listings on the marketplaces we track on 25 October 2026, the Steam Community Market included. For every one of them the Steam Market listing cost more than the cheapest listing elsewhere.

The free option is the default model. Valve's Shattered Web notes put it this way: "equip the default Local Agent or Operator to use the pre-existing map-based characters".

Female agents

Valve's in-game descriptions call 7 agents "she" or "her" (checked 25 October 2026). We go by that text only, so agents whose description uses no pronoun, such as Getaway Sally, are not listed. Each entry shows the words its description uses.

Patches on agents

  • Patches arrived on 25 February 2020. Valve's notes say they "can now be applied to specific locations on each character model, and you can apply more than one for each agent".
  • Team Patch Packs went on sale for the first time in October 2021, per Valve's post of 21 October 2021.
  • Since 2 October 2024, patches listed on the Steam Market or in the Armory can be previewed on your own inventory items.
  • We found no Valve note that describes taking a patch off an agent once applied.

What changed for agents in CS2

How we price agents

The price on each agent is its single cheapest listing (not a middle price) across the marketplaces we track, refreshed daily, without the Steam Market (it pays out only in Steam Wallet funds) and BUFF163 and Youpin (they pay out only through Alipay or WeChat Pay). An agent listed only on those gets its price from them, with no marketplace link. The Steam Market price is shown next to it for comparison. Agents come in one version each (no wear or StatTrak), so each has a single price. Applied patches don't count. For weapon skins, the price checker compares every marketplace; for whole inventories, try the inventory value checker.

FAQ

How many agents are in CS2?
63: 34 Terrorist agents and 29 Counter-Terrorist agents, all from Operation Shattered Web (22), Operation Broken Fang (20) and Operation Riptide (21). Some of them are versions of the same character, like the five Sir Bloody Darryl agents.
How do you get agents in CS2?
Agents were operation rewards: you completed missions, earned stars and spent them on rewards, in Operation Shattered Web (2019), Broken Fang (2020) and Riptide (2021). No Valve update since Riptide has added a new agent or a new way to get one. The weekly Care Package that replaced weekly drops in CS2 lists weapon cases, weapon finishes and graffiti as its choices; agents aren't named. The agents still trade: on 25 October 2026 all 63 had listings on the marketplaces we track, the Steam Community Market included.
What is the cheapest agent in CS2?
Soldier | Phoenix at $3.58 on SkinBaron (prices of 25 October 2026). The ten cheapest cost up to $5.50. The cheapest Master (red) agent is The Elite Mr. Muhlik | Elite Crew at $7.61.
What is the most expensive agent in CS2?
Sir Bloody Miami Darryl | The Professionals at $66.03 for the cheapest listing on 25 October 2026. Rarity doesn't set the order: 4 of the ten priciest agents are below Master, such as Primeiro Tenente.
Are there free agents in CS2?
Only the default models. Valve's Shattered Web notes say you can "equip the default Local Agent or Operator to use the pre-existing map-based characters". Every named agent on this page was an operation reward and now has to be bought or traded for.
Which CS2 agents are women?
Valve's own item descriptions call 7 agents "she" or "her": Special Agent Ava, 1st Lieutenant Farlow, Cmdr. Mae 'Dead Cold' Jamison, Chef d'Escadron Rouchard, Cmdr. Davida 'Goggles' Fernandez, Safecracker Voltzmann and Vypa Sista of the Revolution. We go by that text only, so agents whose description uses no pronoun, such as Getaway Sally, are not listed.
Can you put patches on agents?
Yes. Valve's notes of 25 February 2020 say patches "can now be applied to specific locations on each character model, and you can apply more than one for each agent". Since 2 October 2024 you can preview patches from the Steam Market or the Armory on your own items before you buy. We found no Valve note that describes removing a patch once it is applied.
Do agents wear the gloves I equip?
Yes in the buy menu and the photobooth since Valve's update of 2 October 2026, which says agents "now wear their equipped gloves during the photobooth photography sessions and in buy menu".
What is the best CS2 agent?
It comes down to looks: no Valve note gives any agent a gameplay advantage. The top rarity is Master (red), with 16 agents. Valve does tune maps around how agents read against them, for example "Brightened red interior walls to help with agent vis" in a November 2023 update.
Are new agents coming to CS2?
Valve hasn't announced any. The newest agents came with Operation Riptide on 22 September 2021, and Valve's notes up to 22 October 2026 add no new ones. CS2 updates since then have changed existing agents (animated eyes at launch, defeat animations, gloves in the buy menu).
