House edge / Rust case sites compared

We measured every case on 11 Rust case sites

Case sites set the price of every case and the value of every item in it, and they publish the odds. That's enough to work out what each case keeps. We did it for 1,416 cases, measured in October 2026, and we redo it every month.

What stands out

How we measured

For every case we multiply each item's price on the site by its drop chance and add them up: that's what one opening is worth on average. Divided by the case price, that's the return to player; the house edge is the rest. We use each site's own item prices, not Steam Market prices, so where a site prices items above what they'd sell for, the real cost to you is a little higher than shown here.

Free, level and gold cases are left out (you don't pay money for them), and so is any case whose odds don't add up to 100%. Where a site states its own edge, our numbers match it. The full method, with a calculator for checking any case yourself, is on our house edge page. We did the same for CS2 case sites.

Over time the house edge always wins. Set a budget before you open anything, and read our responsible gambling page if it stops being fun.
