How we review
Every site gets the same six scores out of 10. The overall Betrefs score is their weighted average, and a referral deal never changes it.

The six criteria

Tested vs. provisional
A review is only marked Tested once one of us has deposited real money or skins, played or traded, and withdrawn successfully. We record how long the withdrawal took and how quickly live support answered, and show both on the review.
Everything else is a provisional desk review, built from the site itself, its terms, player reports and other reviewers. Those scores are capped at 8.5/10, because we won't call a site excellent before we've cashed out from it. Design stays unscored until someone has actually used the site.
What the scores mean
- 8 and up: among the best we list. Safe to recommend.
- 6 to 8: fine, with trade-offs you should know about.
- Below 6: works, but there are better sites for the same thing.
Player reviews and traffic
We show each site's Trustpilot score and a few recent player reviews, positive and negative. They feed into the trust score, but only partly: gambling sites often reward players for reviews, and people who lost review more than people who won. Monthly visit estimates come from Semrush (or HypeStat for smaller sites) and show how established a site is. They never raise a score.
Money
Many links on Betrefs are affiliate links, and we earn a commission if you sign up through them. That pays for the site and the free case. It never buys a higher score or a better ranking, and sites without a Betrefs code are reviewed exactly the same way. More about us on the about page.
