Steam Inventory Value Checker
Paste a profile link, a 17-digit Steam ID or your custom URL name. Your inventory must be public. We only read it; nothing is stored.
How to use it
- Pick the game: CS2, Rust, TF2 or Dota 2.
- Make that inventory public in your Steam privacy settings.
- Paste your profile link, Steam ID or custom URL name and press Check.
- Read the total and your most valuable items. For Rust, TF2 and Dota 2, keep the page open until every item is priced.
- Copy the page link to share the result: it includes the profile and the game.
Where the prices come from
| Game | Price used | How fresh |
|---|---|---|
| CS2 | Median of CSFloat and BUFF163, else of the marketplaces with 3+ listings; 17 marketplaces in all | Refreshed daily |
| Rust | Steam Community Market lowest listing (USD), or its median recent sale when nothing is listed | Fetched live, kept 6 hours |
| TF2 | Steam Community Market lowest listing (USD), or its median recent sale when nothing is listed | Fetched live, kept 6 hours |
| Dota 2 | Steam Community Market lowest listing (USD), or its median recent sale when nothing is listed | Fetched live, kept 6 hours |
For CS2 we hold prices from many marketplaces; for the other 3 games the Steam Market is the one market we can read item by item, so those values are Steam prices. Third-party sites can pay less (they pay cash) or list higher.
What you keep after Steam's fees
Steam adds its fees on top of the seller's price: 5% for Steam and 10% for the game, rounded down to the cent but never under $0.01 each. An item listed at $1.15 leaves the seller $1.00. We work this out per item, so a pile of cheap items shows the real, bigger cut. Steam's FAQ also limits a Steam Wallet to $2,000 and one listing to about $1,800. Try any price in the Steam fee calculator.

FAQ
- How do I check my Steam inventory value?
- Pick the game, paste your Steam profile link, 17-digit Steam ID or custom URL name, and press Check. Your inventory must be public: Steam, Edit Profile, Privacy Settings, Inventory: Public. Each game's inventory is checked on its own.
- Is my Steam inventory value real money?
- Not directly. The value is what your items list for. Sold on the Steam Market, you get Steam Wallet funds after fees, and Steam's own FAQ says those funds can't be withdrawn to a bank. For cash you'd sell on a third-party marketplace, where prices and fees differ.
- How much does Steam take when I sell?
- The buyer pays your price plus a 5% Steam fee and a 10% game fee for CS2, Dota 2, TF2 and Rust, each at least $0.01. So about 13% of what the buyer pays goes to fees, and more on cheap items where the 1 cent minimums kick in.
- Why are some of my items not priced?
- Items with no listings and no recent sales on the Steam Market have no price to use. For Rust, TF2 and Dota 2, Steam also gives prices one item at a time, so a large inventory is priced in batches of about 20 items a minute while the page is open.
- Does it count items that can't be sold?
- No. Only items Steam marks as marketable count. Medals, coins and other items that can't go on the Steam Market are left out of the total and the item count.
- Why does my CS2 value differ from the Steam Market price?
- For CS2 we use the median price on the deepest third-party markets, which are often below Steam's prices because Steam balance can't be cashed out. For Rust, TF2 and Dota 2 the value is the Steam Market's own lowest listing.
