Search every command
Every server command and setting in Rust as of 16 October 2026, with the game's own description where it has one. "Anyone" means any player can run it; the rest need admin or the server console. Client graphics settings (like FOV) aren't in this list.
How to use it
- Press F1 in Rust to open the console.
- Find a command below or search the full list, and press Copy.
- Paste it into the console and change the parts in <angle brackets> (a player name, Steam64ID or item).
- Admin commands only work on a server where you have ownerid or moderatorid.
How to become admin on your server
- Join your server, then in the server console type
usersto see your Steam64ID. - In the server console, run
ownerid <Steam64ID> "Your name"(ormoderatoridfor the lower level). - Disconnect and reconnect. Admin commands like noclip and god now work for you.
- With the server stopped you can also add the same ownerid line to
server/<identity>/cfg/users.cfg.
Server-only commands can be run from the F1 console by an admin with sv in front, for example sv say hello.

FAQ
- How do I open the console in Rust?
- Press F1, in the main menu or in game. Type a command and press Enter. On a server you host, the server window has its own console too.
- How do I make myself admin on my Rust server?
- Find your Steam64ID (type users in the server console while you're connected), then run ownerid followed by your Steam64ID and name in quotes in the server console, for example ownerid 76561198000000000 "Name". Reconnect to get the rights. moderatorid gives the lower admin level.
- How do I use noclip and god mode in Rust?
- Both need admin on the server. Open the console with F1 and type noclip to fly (type it again to stop), and god true for no damage (god false to stop). They don't work on servers where you're not an admin.
- How do I give myself items in Rust?
- As an admin, type inventory.give followed by the item's short name and an amount, for example inventory.give rifle.ak 1, or spawnitem with a name to drop it where you're looking. Players without admin can't spawn items.
- How do I show my FPS in Rust?
- Type perf 1 in the F1 console for an FPS counter. Higher numbers add more: 2 frame latency, 3 RAM, 4 ping. perf 0 hides it. fps.limit caps your frame rate.
- Do I need writecfg after ownerid?
- Not any more, according to Facepunch's wiki: owner and moderator changes save by themselves. server.writecfg still saves the server's other settings to its cfg files.
