The keno formula
chance of h hits with p picks = C(p, h) x C(40 - p, 10 - h) / C(40, 10)
Stake draws 10 numbers from 40 with no repeats, each from what's left. The chance of a given number of hits depends only on how many numbers you pick; the risk level only changes what each result pays.

FAQ
- What are the odds of hitting all 10 numbers in keno?
- In 40-number keno with 10 drawn, 1 in 847,660,528. That's C(40, 10), the number of ways to draw 10 numbers from 40.
- How many numbers should you pick in keno?
- On Stake every pick count and risk level pays back roughly 99%, so it doesn't change the average. Fewer picks pay small amounts more often; more picks and higher risk pay rarely but more.
- How are keno odds calculated?
- With a hypergeometric formula. Picking p numbers on a 40-number board with 10 drawn, the chance of exactly h hits is C(p, h) x C(40 - p, 10 - h) / C(40, 10).
- Is online keno the same as lottery keno?
- No. Casino and lottery keno usually draws 20 of 80 numbers with their own pay tables. Crypto keno on Stake draws 10 of 40, so the odds on this page only fit that format.
